WHAT'S NEW IN THE GOWN GALLERY
As you can see from these images just off the work table, I'm still in my pannier phase. Clients either love these molded peplums or take a pass. I've finally moved out the 1700s by ditching the crusted Alencon lace for the bodice, so the gowns are really looking more late 1940s. You know, right before the "New Look" was launched. I'm still draping medium- to heavy-weight satin, as Charles James used to, so that my creations look more like sculpture than froth. I see this series of dresses for the more sophisticated bride. One who gets married on a city rooftop or historic mansion.
