THE RETURN TO TRADITION

Wouldn't you agree? The wedding dress has gone through some radical redefining the past few years and classic silhouettes have once again found a special niche in bridal fashion. With a few variations, the high collared dress with long sleeves has made a definite comeback. So how do you know if you're a traditional bride? Ask yourself these questions: Is everything you touch in your everyday wardrobe timeless, refined, sophisticated? If so, consider yourself  traditional. If a Hermes scarf and cashmere turtleneck could be your everyday signature look, imagine your wedding dress an A-line with bateau or V-neck. You love any fabric that has understated elegance like traditional duchesse satin and peau de soie. Look for designers who use classic lines and fabric to their best advantage like Carolina Herrera, Rosa Clara, Kenneth Pool, Amsale, Anne Barge, Peter Langner, Stewart Parvin and Reem Acra. Below are a few of my faves from my own collection. . .
The finger tip pouf veil paired up with and allover lace bodice and sheath silhouette with long tight sleeves is a total classic . . . . .

The Mantilla veil above and cathedral length beauties below are iconic symbols of the traditional bride.  So are the silhouettes in satin, tulle and allover lace.
