THE COTTON BRIDE

Summer is the perfect time to get into cotton.  I know what you're thinking: If cotton is the ultimate in laid-back casual why would I wear it on my day of days?  'Cause gee, you gotta admit its just so awesomely pretty!   FYI Swiss cottons like the eyelet and the cut out lace here are some of the finest fabrics in the world. First-rate cottons have always been a stylish option for summer brides and garden weddings.  Since not every bride wants the formality of silk on her wedding day, some designers (like moi) got the message awhile back, offering at least one cotton option in the collection. Bravo! Finally! Yes, we're listening!
This dress was upcycled from apiece of imported Swiss cotton I so lovingly hand tea-dyed from white to a soft and dark ivory.  The GRETEL Dress has a Sabrina neckline, cinched in waist with a matching eyelet belt. Lined in muslin, it has a low back lined with a row of covered buttons. Cutout patterns of embroidery adorn the border of the skirt and neckline.   If you like the precision of the bouffant/hourglass shaping here it is structured by a separate layered crinoline petticoat.
