OH LA LA!!!

I'm taking a few minutes here to share some playful and hopefully inspiring shots of romantic headwear. Spring is almost upon us full of ripe and budding greenery.  The beauty of pouf style headpieces is they can go from earthy Boho to all-out vintage Vogue elegant.  In other words, you could easily change out this look for a suit (like they did in the 1940s) or evening gown with opera gloves, and the pouf would still be on trend and stunning!
I loved taking these behind the scenes shots of Natalie dancing in my designs. She's a little bit Boho and Oh la la French can-can dancer all at once.  What a beautiful day we had!

Spring is upon us full of ripe and budding greenery. What best to pair up with all this natural beauty? Try organzas, tulle, crinolines, and organdy with a mix of laces thrown in for good measure. Put it all together and you have some really serious Oh La La! happening. I lucked out recently when I met up with Natalie and Olivia, both dancers who have studied ballet all their lives. Put either in one of my dresses (inspired by the 1950s, Dior, Giselle, La Sylphide, and Swan Lake) and both just seem to float even in still photographs.

I also wanted to share some playful and hopefully inspiring shots of romantic headwear. The beauty of pouf-style headpieces and big flowers is they can go from earthy Boho to all-out vintage Vogue elegant. In other words, you could easily change out this look for a suit (like they did in the 1940s) or evening gown with opera gloves, and the pouf would still be on trend and stunning!

I loved taking these shots. My dancers are a little bit Boho and Oh la la French can-can dancer all at once. What a beautiful day we had!

Above: Olivia wearing the ODETTE Dress, a one-shouldered shirred tulle over Chantilly lace with a full gathered tulle skirt. The underskirts are on the bias to make for beautiful movement. Handmade silk roses create a shoulder bouquet. Her look is topped off with the TULLE POUF dappled in rose petals. Below: Natalie is about to take a spin in this lace-beaded ivory satin bustier and crinoline skirt. Her crowning glory is the WHITE ROSE FASCINATOR a silk rose infused with shots of lace and tulle.

Above: The BEATRIX Dress sports an embroidered organza bodice, trimmed in scalloped edging. The skirt is 5 layers of tulle over a silk taffeta circular skirt.

Below: Late 1940s-early 50s glam, the GILDA Dress has a dropped bodice in ivory cut velvet with 3/4-length sleeves sitting atop a full circular skirt in yards of tulle and crinoline.

Above: From the Dioresque Collection, The ILONA Dress is all about easy elegance in a heavy silk faille with a detachable portrait collar and full skirt. Three hand-rolled silk dupion florals complete this Mid-Century chic.

Below: The essence of Oh la la! GIGI is an A-line created out of embroidered organza with a shot of ruffled lace underneath. A long row of buttons graces the back of this dress. A perky tulle head pouf accented with a silk rose finishes off the look with a hint of can-can look.

An embroidered beaded silk satin corset paired with bouffant pleated full skirt. The matching belt is crafted with hand-beaded lace cutouts and beaded borders.
