VOGUEING IT UP WITH GLOVES

Whether you're wearing crocheted shorties or long, opera-length beauties, gloves are glamorous and can add some spark to your bridal look. If you're getting married when the chill is on, long gloves help warm up hands and arms. There are no rules anymore about what sort of gloves you have to wear with your gown. You can go with the classic white and ivory or jazz up your look with any length, color, texture, or even pattern. Just like some brides add pizazz by wearing different-colored shoes with their gown, a glove color is an option you have as well. Experiment, then go right ahead and be as adventuresome as you

want!

Short gloves go best with semi-formal dresses, though I have seen great pairings with ballgowns and formal-length gowns. Anytime a more lady-like or dainty look is preferred, shorts are your best bet. Above: The 1-button or shortie glove--these are the shortest in the glove glossary. Below: Bracelet-length gloves. Usually has 3-4 buttons and extends beyond the wrist.

Above: The mid-arm or below-elbow-length glove adds elegance and sophistication. 8-10 buttons and referred to as "mids" or "middies". They can be worn in formal or semi-formal settings. Below: 12-button, this glove is worn just over the elbow and considered formal.
