THE ALL OVER LACE WEDDING DRESS

The beauty of the all-over lace dress is that the lace pattern is continuous and flowing. If the lace is backed with a darker fabric, it can show off the floral pattern to its best advantage. Typically, the more intricate and less repetitive the motif, the more precious and expensive it is. But not always. Newer cotton and crocheted laces sometimes feature geometric and unusual patterns that break away from the standard floral template. Dresses in all-over patterns can be Chantilly, Alencon, or even a mix of different laces, as flattering silhouettes range from the most columnar to full sweeping ball gown skirts. Below are a few gemmies in Chantilly lace.
