AWESOME SHOOTERS

Today I'm actually over on photographer, Jim Vetter's Blog talking all about tips for having that amazing wedding of yours come off without a hitch (no pun intended!).  Before you head over though, just wanted you to take a moment here to enjoy these images we created for the Dioresque and Deco Collections. These hail from two different shoots, Love Stories and Bridal Sweet.  It never ceases to amaze me Jim's ability to capture something truly wonderful in his lens no words can describe.  READ MORE....

I LOVE BOHO

I absolutely love Lexi Moody's work.  She's the Scottsdale photographer who created these inspiring images of pretty waifs in floral crowns.  Her use of light is extraordinary and I'm impressed with the quality of her editing.  This series says,  "Hello Spring" like nothing else I've seen this year . . . .

IT'S ALL AN ILLUSION

Lately we're seeing the return of sheer, illlusion and lace bodices--something considered once upon a time very traditional in bridal wear. This look is a hark back to the the 1950s when sheer organza or lace was worn up top for coverage--in church you couldn't bare anything back then.  Add in the Summer Wedding Factor when most weddings took place; these fibers were light, airy and breathed well.  Fast forward 2013 and you'll find sheer geniuses like these, recreations as well as genuine vintage pieces.  All are breathtakingly classic and the epitome of elegance . . .

TAYLOR AND RYAN'S COUNTRY CLUB WEDDING

What a treat I have for you today shot with such skill by Denver photographer, Kelly Coughlin.   Taylor and Ryan were married at The Denver Country Club. With over 250 guests and an amazing party to accommodate every single one of them this newly wed couple had one of the most talked about weddings of the summer. The grounds at The Denver Country club were groomed and in full bloom for this early September wedding leaving the backdrop for their ceremony and party nothing far from breathtaking. Most notable was Taylor's wedding gown which transformed into a sexy party dress after dinner. This was the trend at the tail end of last wedding season and we will definitely see this "2 dresses in one" style on most of 2013's brides. Taylor also stole the show with her custom created blue sparkled high heels. During the father-daughter dance, which had a wonderful pop-song choreography twist, Taylor got to show off her knee length version and bright shoes. The spectacular rock cover band Funkiphino brought the house down and kept the guests dancing for hours.

INCREDIBLY VEILED

A few more adds here to the Incredibly Veiled series--a showcase of what designers out there are doing to entice us into topping it all off with a veil.  You'll find like I did, inspiration coming in both traditional and non-traditional ways here.  Are you going to (or did you) perchance don the veil on your wedding day?  It's a real topic of discussion for brides these days, believe me . . .

COW GIRL CHIC

Last week we ran Something In Lace, an editorial featuring a couple dresses by Recapture that would rock for any country western wedding.  Now that we're moving into better weather,  I have more to share about western weddings and dresses.  First off, let me clear one thing up: You don't have to live in Montana to have a real country western wingding.  Find any ranch, farm or open meadow where guests can kick up their heels country style and you've got the right venue. While almost any dress properly accessorized can look western chic, your best bets are going to be Prairie Revival and Laura Ashley-style looks--check out those retro 70s high collars and dresses donning lots of lace. Cow Girl brides with maids in boots and short dresses sure are a hot ticket right now.  Go ahead and add in some rustic elements like the ones here: horses, a barn, berries and a few straw hats.  Mixing these you're gonna have the basics to build up a real yeee ha! celebration.   Below you'll find a few inspirations for the ranch/cowboy/western wedding theme I particularly love....
