SALUTE TO THE NEW YEARS BRIDE

The New Years Bride is special.  Because New Years Eve and Day are all about partying and celebration, throwing nups into the mix can really add up to all that glitters!  You can shine on like a crazy diamond in the light and anticipation of the coming year in everything from metallics to rhinestones and beads.  And here's the great thing about being a New Years bride: You can add the tiniest touch of bling to your neck or hemline or amp it all the way up to super gloss if you like.  The choice is yours!  If you're in need of some righteous inspiration, here are some of the hottest looks I've created for getting married New Year's Eve or any time after . . . .

LA PLUME!

In anticipation of the New Year, here's some fantastic head wear for The December 31/January 1  Bride.  The plume. It proffers a touch of the sophisticate as well as pure whimsy. Plumes are hot right now with the revival of  Downton Abbey and Gatsby styles.   While they go with pretty much anything formal, try a plume or a few of them if you're going with more of an evening gown look.

2015: A YEAR OF DESIGNS

As a way of saluting the year, I've gathered the best of Bride Chic's editorials so you can experience see some of the color, texture and glam all over again.  My 2015 collections pretty much followed the 2014 concept of lots of lace and tulle as well as continuing to incorporate the Boho style into my brand.  You can't get any more dramatic than adding  sweep trains to most of the gowns--that of which I did--but rest assured, you can always order your fave dress or set of separates sans the train.  I also want to take this time to thank all the very talented photographers and other wedding pros who made these images you see here a reality. Really, I couldn't have done it all without them . . . .

A WINTER PINK WEDDING

When I was a kid the Sears Christmas Catalog was a big deal for me and each year round about Labor Day I couldn't wait to get it. Of course I cruised the toy department over and over till the "Wish Book" as it used to be called was dogeared to death. When I reached my teens, the junior clothes replaced the toys. Winter pastels were the thing when I was in high school. This meant sweaters, plaid skirts, mufflers and gloves in  lavenders, blues and of course pink. Looking at the inspirations here, pastels may be just the thing for this winter. I found the ice pink tones here a great add on for everything from decor, table settings to fashion.  And if you're looking for real estate don't miss the pink house in the bottom image.  A real gemmie . . . .

THE NUTCRACKER WEDDING

I ask you, what could be more apropos for us winter wonderland junkies than a Nutcracker themed wedding in all it's glory?  How about going all out and making it a Christmas Eve celebration?   I absolutely love this backdrop that is Westfield's Marriot in Washington D.C.  Captured so beautifully by Mila Jackson Photography, this styled shoot incorporates ballet, imagery from the story and professional dancers as the bride and groom.  Said the photographer about this shoot:
"This was a collaborative effort by all involved from beginning to end.  Dedication and hard work are evident in every detail--the individual hand-crafted invitations and stationary, hand painted details, real art decor of the venue, design of the cake and gorgeous bridal gown."
