RECAPTURED

I have another stunning styled shoot for you from Recapture. Oakland based designer and clothing refashioning expert, Robin Dentsen has put together yet more vintage inspiration with the help of that incredible eye behind the lens, Yekaterina of Y Bowyer Photography.  A mixing and matching of skirts from retro bridal dresses with different style tops makes for a unique and easy look. Says Robin, "I wanted to show how you can pair them with a variety of tops - things you could buy in a regular retail store - for different looks. The white tulle skirt was used for two looks: 1. With a strapless bodice 2. the sheer blouse for what I call the sophisticated 50's look.  The ivory skirt with ruffles was paired with a top from JCrew.  The "Victorian" style outfit combined a lace skirt that we cut down from a 50's dress. Because of the corselet type waistband I paired it with a restyled Victorian blouse." As far as styling goes, Robin takes top prize in my book for adding all those details that really rock a frock.   She also styled this shoot with the vintage suitcases, hats, umbrellas and other accessories from her vast collection of prop rentals which she also offers for weddings.  My personal faves?  Has to be the Hydrangea and rose combo above and how it pairs so beautifully with the sheer 1950s ensemble.  And check out the Bowler hat--just love that snappy little touch topping it all off . . .

ooohhh again a turtle neck is one of my favorite. That last dress is amazing! lovely.
I am fascinated by the unconventionality in the styling of some of the dresses .... like throwing a hint of black in the shoes and belt... awesome!

Thank you all for your comments! I wanted to give a shout out to our fantastic model Molly Ratermann (she modeled all the dresses). For the different hairstyle and makeup looks we owe to Kimberly Carlson of 706 Hairsylist and her assistant Ileana. Their talent really made the looks so original.
Thanks again!
