CHIC OF THE WEEK
It's all an illusion! Lately we're seeing the comeback of sheer illusion and lace bodices--something considered once upon a time very traditional in bridal wear. This vintage look called, COLLEEN is a hark back to the the 1950s when sheer organza or lace was worn up top for coverage--in church you couldn't bare anything back then. Add in the summer wedding factor when most weddings took place; these fibers were light, airy and breathed well. Fast forward three generations and you'll find a sheer under bodice of Chantilly lace with a mesh/tulle overlay like this. The Sabrina neckline accents the skirt--yards of tulle over layers of crinoline. Covered buttons line the back and there are dappled rose petals over layers of blue, pastel yellow and light grey tulle skirts.
