PHOTOGRAPHY SPOTLIGHT: ALEX RODRIGUEZ

Alex sent me the above photo of this great dress he shot recently. Once I checked out a couple more pics I just had to post and share what I could of Annie and David's Key West Wedding. The message here is, when you find the right dress, it's easy to tie in the rest of the wedding. The theme was definitely destination tropical.

Annie's gown was actually designed by one of her bridesmaids. This same wonderful bridesmaid designed the maids dresses too. I love the range of different styles she permitted everyone in her party. Notice how they all have stayed within the pastel and soft texture family without going so matchy-matchy with it.

Thanks to Alex Rodriguez for sharing these exquisite photographs and of course Annie and David for inviting us to share their day. Some more very talented people helped coordinate Annie and David's wedding to make it all the more special; here are a few of them:
EGO Events, Galas and Occasions
You can check out more work of Alex Rodriguez either on his site wwwAlexRodriguezPhotography.com or his blog.

the maids dresses are so great--perfect fabric and color choice for the key west. i wish more brides would be open to such design!

I just have to jump in and comment on this. You're right, brides like Annie--not designers or manufacturers or Wedding Gurus--but brides themselves are the ones pioneering this trend. Notice how they all look cohesive but not perfectly matched like they belong on The Lawrence Welk Show . . .

Those beach shots are so lovely. Alex did such a great job capturing the sense of love and playfulness, and the water behind it is such a vivid detail. Just beautiful!

The juxtaposition of color, setting, and fashion is flawless in all of these photographs. Wonderful spotlight!

The overall look is SO authentic Key West... Casual, tropical, eclectic, poetic, colorful (muted, from the salt air, of course) and most of all, fun. And most of all, traditional without being the slightest bit conventional.
