COUNTRY GARDENS

There are some real perks to being a bridal gown designer, one of which is every so often getting to work with some super creative wedding pros.  This styled shoot has to be  one of the most incredible  I've done thus far.  Every vendor on this project had a unique set of skills for creating today's blend of inspiration.  The concept for this project was put together by florist and event designer, Victoria Marshall, who conjured this shoot around flowers--those growing, picked and some gorgeous impostors made out of silk.  The minute she contacted me I was over the moon excited to work with her again .  Mixing flowers and greenery amid acres of carefully cultivated gardens in the wine country is one of the best themes there is.   Victoria's bouquets and table artistry are beyond words.  Roses, peonies and ranunculus both living and silk, were even fashioned and worked into sashes, on dresses and worn in the hair. All this swoon was captured by photographer, Shona Nystrom of Studio 7teen .  One of the most intense shooters I've ever had the pleasure working with, she understands how light works and plays.  Her images have that dreamlike, ethereal quality  but are still grounded in the reality of the moment. The piece de resistance had to be shooting at the landmark Madrona Manor Inn in the heart of the wine country.  A rambling estate on eight acres, it's a property  showcasing Victorian architecture.  The many gardens and wooded areas on this property make it an ideal spot for a wedding.
Special thanks to Katy Marshall who did an awesome job on make up and hair. She made the other Katy (model) look fantastic in my designs.  Thanks to everyone who worked on this very special project , creating joy and inspiration along the way . . . .
