CHIC OF THE WEEK

As far as vintage style dresses go this pattern has been in the collection since the inception of my business and I've been at it since 1984.  The MARILYN Dress has proved timeless and classic, definitely one of my best sellers.  This particular version so beautifully shot by photographer Stuart Lirette is an allover Chantilly lace with hand beaded Venice appliques adorning the midriff.  The MARILYN Dress has also been offered through the years in a white silk crepe reminiscent of the Travilla design Marilyn Monroe made iconic in The Seven Year Itch, a peach crepe, and for the more unconventional bride, red and white polka dots--a salute to The Pin-up.  The new version coming out next year is going to be in layers of white tulle.  I'm curious, what would your ideal version of this gemmie look like?

This chic of the week article is my favourite. The Marilyn dress is a perfect representation of the vintage collection of wedding gowns. You can also have a look at our wedding gown collection for more options.

This dress is absolutely darling! Her makeup and hair are matched perfect with the style, also. Fabulous post!
