ALICE IN WONDERLAND INSPIRED

Whimsical meets fairytale elegance with just a sprinkle of madness for our Alice in Wonderland styled shoot, not so coincidentally planned by White Rabbit Events. Captured at the historic Carriage House in the heart of Milton, Ontario’s Country Heritage Park, the rural and picturesque setting is no stranger to folklore. A movie adaption of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s, Anne of Green Gables, was brought to life there. Something old, something new, something rare and something pastel blue… Pastels claimed center stage, adorning our ‘Alice’ and tossing any shyness from being pale down the rabbit hole. Gowns in shades of light blue and cream took confidence cues from the bold, flawless application of our model’s make-up. The cream, Lee Ann Belter Butterfly dress with embroidered bodice and tulle skirting, stunned while paired with the rare – only 300 produced – double-heeled Fluevog’s in a style and shade of blue that evokes visions of mermaid tails. The tulle ball gown with sweep train in blue from Peony Emporium is fit for a modern-day princess, making you question the tradition of a white wedding gown. For a convertible and versatile option, the sky blue Henkaa wrap dress could be worn a multitude of ways, limited only by one’s imagination. A partial up-do was the epitome of fairytale hair, with our model’s tresses gathered into a soft bow. Fine, modern designed jewelry from Luna & Co. punctuated each look with grandeur.
“It’s always tea time.” - The Mad Hatter. In celebration of Alice’s un-wedding, a whimsical tea party was in order. The creative stationery adorned with a vintage clock looked as though it had slipped out of an antique drawer, opening to reveal an invite which once led guests to a magical adventure. Flowers in a colorful array of ranunculus and hydrangeas fashioned the bouquet, centerpiece and rustic ceremony arch made of birch. A myriad, of vintage teacups, summer blooms, china, books, candles, and clocks were playfully strewn across the head harvest table flanked by gold Chiavari chairs. Storyline themed cookies dotted each colorful place setting. A fanciful cake with butterflies that seemed ready to flit away was showcased on a stunning antique vanity along with macarons and mini-desserts. Vintage furniture and décor popped against the dark wood of The Carriage House including a curvy blue settee and antique white sofa. Boo the bunny played an Oscar-worthy role as the White Rabbit.
