CATHERINE AND BRAND'S RUSTIC RANCH WEDDING

Elegantly-Country, Catherine and Brand had their rustic wedding on the grounds of the bride's family ranch in Kerrville, Texas. The Schreiner family has been a large part of the history of Kerrville since the 1800s. It was important for the bride Catherine to show her wedding guests that this history was not only to be acknowledged but to bless her commitment and her future with her husband Brand. They even recreated the original ranch-home's guest register {see photo}. From silks and cowhides to roses and antlers, the wedding was a perfect mixture of textures and themes. Overall, this couple's special day holds a richness of tender detail and classic beauty.

ASCOT GAVOTTE

Do you perchance remember Cecil Beaton's marvelous set design and costumes in the 1964 musical, My Fair Lady?  The thing that particularly inspired me about the Ascot Gavotte number was the effect of black and white in color. Here's a shoot actually inspired by My Fair Lady. Says  Karla Rosalin of Karlin Rosailin Photography, "The black and white stripe details that were inspired of Audrey Hepburn's dress were pulled into table setting and stationary and we even added a few details to the gown. The florals were kept vibrant and bright to off set the black and white theme. This was a certainly a collaborative effort among all the wedding vendors coming together with a common vision to create this My Fair Lady inspired wedding shoot with derby flare. . . . "

TOMORROW YOU'LL FIND ME . . . .

How I  love the idea of mixing vintage eras.  Here's a great fusion of Contemporary/Goth meets the 30s-40s.  Perusing the ages can bring a one-off element to your bridal look and say a lot about who you are.  It can also be a way to introduce that something old that belonged to mom or grand mom.  Tune in tomorrow on One Wed Blog where we'll be exploring this fascinating on trend concept in bridal fashion.

BEHIND THE SCENES AT BUENA VISTA WINERY

A big howdy to all my loyal followers out there who've put up with my almost two week hiatus. Happy to report my summer vacation is wrapping up (or down if you prefer).  Before I checked out I came up with this preview of  coming attractions from the 2015 collection.  Albeit, we've got a sort of mash-up here of behind the scenes snaps from I-phones and pocket cameras from our recent shoot out at Buena Vista Winery in Sonoma--an absolutely incredible site not to mention first rate winery.  The first shot was clicked by Yours Truly while Carlene Kanellis of Carlene Imagery was setting up. Next up  I particularly love the snap taken by hair and makeup artist Alicia Desmarais Flores.   Jenna on the swing at sundown is totally off the charts!. Last photo is a real live gem of a teaser by a pro.  It's all Carlene and really signature of her fine art approach to photography.  Kudos and kisses to everyone who participated and made this lovely shoot possible. Edgar and I will never forget our special day out at such a gorgeous winery . . . .
